I read today that they stopped making the Mauser in '39, before the War turned World, but they kept making Lugers almost to the bloody end. Dad brought home a P-38 (the Walther pistol, not the Lockheed... and oh, yeah, the can opener, too) that lives in my safe. I still want the Mauser...
