I felt that Ruto celebrating her 50th at the office with cooperate colour balloons and supermarket cake would be the best way to hammer in her situation. I had another thumbnail idea where she was surrounded by apathetic coworkers but due to how fast it goes by this one won out in the end. It's certainly a lot better on the quick to read front. It's also been a while since I've had to really design a background from scratch so it was a lot of fun decorating the cubicle. I didn't take too many references on what It should look like but I thought about what kind of things I have in my own office space and tried to arrange things in a way that felt natural. I think the fact that it feels like a real space makes it even more depressing though. XD
