Though not as well-known in the Anglophone media as the Western Front, the Austrian and Turkish fronts also saw protracted, brutal combat throughout the First World War, as commemorated by this exhibit at the Imperial War Museum of the North (IWM North) in Manchester. It is worth noting that the two major Central Powers on those fronts, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire, both fragmented after the war.
