Description Unlike other American allies like South Korea and Australia, Canada did not deploy troops to help the USA in the Vietnam War (domestically unpopular), but it was still involved.  It sent humanitarian aid, sold military supplies, and welcomed Americans fleeing conscription.  At the same time, 30,000 Canadian soldiers volunteered in the American military and at least 134 were lost in action.  A mannequin of a volunteer in American uniform with an M16 rifle at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa commemorates the complex involvement of Canada in Vietnam.
