My 1200th picture of the National Railway Museum! I think I owe it another visit next year...
Great Northern Railway "Stirling Single" 4-2-2 steam locomotive № 1 (GNR Doncaster Works, 1870) sits on the John Boyd turntable in the Great Hall of the NRM (York, England) after its latest cosmetic restoration. It might not be the fastest engine in the world anymore, but 85 miles per hour was certainly impressive 150 years ago and it still looks stylish even standing still.
