Description In 1964, the same year the Tokaido Shinkansen opened to passengers, the Japanese National Railways (JNR) converted Class 1000 test train B to Class 922 inspection train T1, which was named Doctor Yellow (ドクターイエロー) for its distinctive livery.  T1 was scrapped in 1975 after the introduction of the Series 0-derived T2, which was in turn scrapped in 2001, leaving a car from T3 at SCMAGLEV and Railway Park (リニア・鉄道館) in Nagoya as the oldest surviving Doctor Yellow equipment.  Meanwhile, a model of a T1 car is displayed at the Railway Museum (鉄道模型博物館) in Saitama City.
