Description
The entrance to the Egyptian art exhibit at the Walters Art Museum (Baltimore, Maryland) is guarded by twin statues of an enthroned Sekhmet, the lioness-headed goddess of war and protection, sculpted during the reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (r.1391-1351 BC?) for the Temple of Mut at Karnak.
