Very nice!

It almost feels like a traditional art piece, I have to say. I like how you've managed to add a lot of depth to things through the shading, colours, etc. The perspective is intriguing, and I like how there is a sense of reality to it so that it's not flat, or simply just there.

Really quite cool in terms of the detail and all.

Thank you very much! Yes, Artrage is a software that imitates traditional media, that's why it looks like that. Also, being that this was my first digital painting, my approach was still very similar to what I do when I paint in oil colors.

Thanks! Yes, it was a choice of mine to leave the people out. I wanted to convey a
certain feeling of emptiness to contrast with the festive feeling that the decorations give to the scene. It is some kind of a melancholic and at the same time nostalgic feeling that I get when I see such scenes.

Did you know that, in nature, there are no absolutely straight lines? Β And this is also so in most man made things. Your painting is beautiful and I had to look carefully when I came to it because at first I thought it was an actual photograph. Β Nicely done.Β

Thank you! Yes, I am aware of that. The main problem was that I had to repaint some of the lines several times, because they came out a bit too much warped and looked out of perspective.

Thank you! I'm still having a bit of a hard time drawing straight lines on the tablet...I guess I need to get more used to it, but I am really loving the software! And seeing your beautiful art surely inspires me to do more Artrage paintings

YouΒ΄re welcome. I often use rulers for straight lines and then soften them a bit by drawing thin layers by free hand along the line.

YouΒ΄re welcome.

IΒ΄ll probably be asking your advice soon.Β

I like to use the square ruler. I keep one ready without rotating it so that I can quickly check if my lines are exactly horizontal or vertical.
