Super Mario Odyssey, but Mario reunites with his parents in New Donk City!

A mini comic inspired by the scrapped “Mario Plumbing” concept art, in which Mario would’ve been able to revisit his old plumbing business in New Donk City.

I took this idea and applied it to my AU, where an older Jumpman and Lady continue to run their sons’ business, ever since the day Mario and Luigi disappeared to the Mushroom Kingdom. Despite the extensive searches, Jumpman and Lady (Salvatore and Donna) never found out where their sons had vanished. From their point of view, the two brothers left for work one morning and then never returned home (I imagine the Bros could not return the way they came from the Mushroom Kingdom, being that the way they got there was via fluke warp pipe). The lack of closure devastated the both of them, especially since Mario was set to inherit the business with Luigi. They were left with no answers, and even worse, broken family.

Salvatore would eventually go on to rename the business “Mario Plumbing”, to give Donna and himself hope that their sons would one day return. And when they did, they promised to each other they’d still be there for the Bros <3
