A work in progress shot of a 1770's court dress. Shown here are the petticoat and the stomacher. Petticoat has a flounce of antique lace and a border of golden sari trim (not shown, sorry!). The stomacher is made of two pieces of gold sari embroidery. It is supported by my first effort at a large pannier, which needs improvement, but will do for now.
Love the fabric-- an Indian shot silk that is a pleasure to work, once the edges are stabilized. It was described as a dupioni, but is closer to a taffeta
