That's pretty sexist. And racist.
A woman doesn't have to dress scantily to be beautiful. And natives never exposed that much skin.
I find the whole picture pretty ridiculous.

I'm sorry, but I am native and have a long history of our culture.
Most of our women were gorgeous because they did their part in the whole of our way of life.
Both men and women were mostly nude in our tribes. Bear breasted, rabbit skins and feather dresses as worn for thousands of years.
I'm not sure if you realize that, but this is the second time in 5 years some one has commented that way on this piece. It's a cartoon of what I liked at that time.
Please be careful of how you view things. It's a matter of perception and perspective by the viewer and I take your words in kind as that from your perspective and observation.
No friend or family member from the surrounding tribes ever disliked the piece or cartoon/comic art.
Thank you, though, for the view.
I always appreciate any view or opinion/input.
-Doug.

I actually feel pretty bad about that. Sorry. I'll try to be more considerate from now on.
Call me ignorant, but I'm only knowledgeable about my own tribes and what I know of southern tribes are from television (my thought goes to Peter Pan). Since summer is short and winters are cold, we always covered a lot of skin, so I wasn't sure about your art of the nearly nude woman.
When I make comments that seem rude or mean, it's usually a combination of searching really stupid stuff and feeling cranky, or trying to be a troll, I guess. It's like real life. I try to be stupid and mean and it just doesn't work. For one, I'm too much of a wimp, haha.

Don't worry about it.
500 Nations. Not every tribe was alike and had their own languages and cultures, and sometimes (especially by those ignorant in the outside world that don't know Native Americans) think we're all the same. We may be bound by our continent, but we all have our own traditions, way of life and food sources.
I can't be like that when I go to France and think they're all like Germans. If you get what I mean?
When I have to explain those things, it goes over everyone's heads.
Anyway, we are all different, but the same in a lot of aspects. I paint and draw my own peoples culture, and that's because I grew up in it, and my families have for thousands of years. It may look like "Pocahontas" in a sense of the cartoon, but that' what it was meant to be. A comic character.
Thanks for the reply though!
Much appreciated.
-Douglas.

I understand what you mean. I mean, even I don't know much about my own culture much less the hundreds of others out there, but that should be clear enough that we're all different in our own way.
It's cool you draw from your own culture. We have an artist here who likes doing the same, but he constantly asks advice from elders to make sure it's okay to paint or show to outsiders, to be respectful. I've only recently found out that Indians have stories and stuff we're not allowed to tell outsiders until another Indian online indirectly told me. Kinda felt dumb for a while. I'm still learning.
I'm also making a story with native themes but with more subtlety. Having it set in Russia with "magic" (it's actually medicine power) and including stuff from our legends, including giant animals.

Oh, yeah. I asked the same things when I was younger. I only depict certain things, not a lot of the other things that go on.
Very cool you're doing your own thing! Keep it up!
Cheers!

I thought so. I mostly tell legends I read in books or were told in class, I was never told to keep a certain story to myself, only a few instances.
Yeah, had a comic drawn and planning to animate it to a cartoon. People here keep wanting an artist or writer so I might as well embrace it.
