Description A close up head shot of the male lion at the Sacramento Zoo. I did some major reconstruction on this image, as the flies in the lions' exhibit were pretty bad the last few times around. I'll upload a gif to my scraps to give you an idea of what I did.

Thanks. Glad you like it. I've had a person or two tell me they liked it better with the flies still in the picture, but ultimately, I really think doing the extra bit of work to remove them helped the shot out immensely.

Thanks. It's one of the things I like about these close-up portraits -- you get detail in every single hair on their heads. Makes it that much more obvious when I mess it up though. Glad you like it.

They really do seem well taken care of. Sacramento's a small zoo, but it's one of those cases where they definitely went with quality over quantity. What they do, they do well. Glad you like the shot.

Agreed. Although I guess the unending string of photos I've been submitting of this guy probably say that well enough. He's a real supermodel. Glad you like the shot.
