Description This is one of a small group of pronghorns we encountered on the way out to the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area in the Big Bend region of Texas.

Pronghorns are endemic to North America, meaning they can't be found anywhere else in the world. They're also the last remaining species of the family Antilocapridae, so they're really quite unique. Until relatively recently they were endangered, but they have really bounced back and today are numerous across the midwest US.

Lovely markings on him.
I love when animals make a comeback from near extinction!
