Description Named after the famed space artist, John Berkey, this ship was inspired by a painting from an anthology series edited by Frederick Pohl. The cover was for Star 5. Fifth in a series of six books, this one always caught my eye. It has several ships in it, fighting. This is one of them, and I intend to recreate the entire image in a photograph, as soon as I finish the second ship required.

Pretty cool design.

Looks like a "2001: A Space Odyssey" version of the Imperial shuttle from "Star Wars."

Marvelous Clouds and planet surface and Shipmodel, texture and lighting. I agree that there are too many objects to focus on. Great work though.

I would like to do cloud covers like that, but I don't know if it would be possible in Vue 10.

None of this image is cgi. The planet is good old Earth, courtesy of Nasa.

the ship is a scratch built model made of plastic.

Thanks!

Robert.

Surprising that your ship is a plastic model! Well with all those CGI things going on, it's more easy one gets fooled and does not see the obvious! Hahaha.

Besides nice Avatar picture! HAL 9000 from "2001 A Space Odyssey". As you may have noticed it is my Avatar too.

It's a little bit "busy" with perhaps too many objects, but overall I really dig this, very cool

I was thinking that might be the case, but I had to add that planetary ring. It just seemed right!

thanks

It was an instant +fav regardless.  Besides, the universe does not discern what is aesthetic to some individual human's eye - it still stuns with realism and looks amazing.  Extra points for submitting at a large enough size to allow it to be used as a computer wallpaper, so thank you for that as well as the eye candy, sir.

thanks so much!

I always hate it when posters put watermarks on their images, or leave them at postage stamp size.

Just sharing!

Thanks

Robert.
