I've hinted in the past that there was more to the fourth member of the Headliners than meets the eye, though until this point really wasn't sure about what that was-- other than the fact that I intended Binary to have a radically different starting point than the rest of the cast. Think I have something now. Some of this I thought of earlier, some if it is "fly on the seat of my pants" as I'm typing this. Ready?

Binary's operating system, as it were, is human: namely, the young paraplegic Peter Camfeld. Confined to a wheelchair for most of his life, he has a desire to gain some sort of independence and took to idolizing superheroes like the Founders of Freedom to encourage himself. Of course, fate happens and he finds himself in possession of a mysterious-- perhaps even otherworldly-- cuboid object. The device activates without warning and, in a great burst of light, draws in the astonished youth as he is converted to a state of "digital energy".

As to what happens next... well, I can't give everything away!
