Description

Taken at the Romney wildlife centre in Kent.

The Latin word for Perfection is Silentium, Silentium is defined as: (religion) faultlessness, perfection. This is an image stack of 3 images using photo-shop to fuse them together. The original is larger but I have opted to crop this image to have a more immediate impact. I hope you like it!

human high tech seems as simple as bucket filled with potatoes, comparing (though I love the buckets and potatoes!)

I feel that Human high tech is like wondering through the low tech wilderness of green green grass and magic mushrooms but still as Psychoactive as the great Jack herrer

Wow! Thank you very much for your kind comment. I used extension tubes combined with my dedicated (and bl**dy expensive!) Canon 100mm macro lens. With extension tubes it is possible to get an even greater magnification although it is trickier too (auto focus is just too slow so manual focus is a must!), but well worth it when it works out well. You really do need to have a bright sunny day to use them if like me you don't have an external dedicated flash ( yet another expensive piece of equipment on my long list! )

You are very welcome. The Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro is a very well regarded lens which is affordable , you can pay a small fortune but this one is highly recommended as it comes with a 5 year ( 6 in the USA) Guarantee. Canon only offer 1 !!!

Excellent ! Did you stack three times the same picture or different ones?

Hello, I used a technique called focus stacking ([link] )

, when you do macro photography you tend to have a limited depth of field (small slice of the shot on focus so, I took the first image and rocked forward continually taking shots( in burst mode ) so each image has a small portion of the whole in focus. Then I used Photoshop, added all of the separate photos into it so it can automatically add the focused portions of each image and stitch them all together to make an image with the best bits all in one image(The link should explain it better if I am talking double dutch!. I hope this helps and I am making sense!

The most images I have stacked so far is around 11 as in this one " Eye 2 Eye " [link]

Thanks for your input

Thank you, I didn't know this technique. I'll try it. Your explainations are very clear and helpful for me, a true lesson.
