being a fair amateur photographer of a father that was a great artist across several mediums, I think what I got was AN EYE for appreciation and detail. Like a perfect storm... everything and the perfect male all rolled into one. As a gay male that even after years as a decorated police officer i am shy around cute guys - that one I would climb into the photo to ask out

Even more, Thank you for bringing my attention to the "Through New Eyes" contest. I only wish I'd have seen this much sooner. I will be contacting many of my fellow photographers of the male form and making sure they are all on board. You've given us an unbelievable opportunity and I can't thank you enough.

You're welcome, and I'm not sure how you haven't seen the contest yet. I've been posting all over the place for it. If you don't watch me, you should at least watch #communityrelations for community and contest updates, if you're interested when those come about.

DA is soooo Huge it is impossible to keep an eye on it all (grin)... and that "ain't" a bad thing. I used to get news like this through arachnid15 when he was still here. I have watches on spyed and DA HQ... but nothing of great interest for me has come from them.
I have just placed a watch on you and communityrelations.
I posted a journal entry on the contest last night and am contacting several dozen of the photographers I know out here that work with the male form. I hope to help spread the word a little further! I REALLY appreciate your efforts/support. It means a lot!
Only wish I'd have discovered sooner so I could have tried with a 'New' submission...

I wish `arachnid15 were still active on dA. He's a good friend, but I really miss him on dA.
HQ is more for sitewide announcements, and $spyed posts sporadically.
#communityrelations is also sitewide stuff, but also the CR team (Gallery Moderators) post news about the galleries there, including contests and features and the like. I still usually cross post either to my own account or #DMGremlinStudios -- did you join the group yet? I can send you an invite or you can send a join request and you're very welcome there too!
There is still till March 20th for "New" deviations for the contest.... 10 days!
I see more entries, so thank you if your promotion got some of those people active for the contest!

`arachnid15 sponsored my first DD (before I even knew what a DD was... LOL) Sadly I didn't get to know him very well before he left. We chatted a few times, only wish I could have known him better.
I did have the contest posted in a couple groups I'm in as well as mentioning it in my journal. Hope to do more with that this weekend when I have time.
I have a list of 35 photographers I know who work with the male form and am attempting to send each a personal note.
Thanks for the interesting 'background' info on the groups and $spyed. I'm just getting used to how groups work and they dump these "Stacks" on us... GADS... what a friggin mess... (grin) screwed up my entire message box, can't find a thing anymore.... LOL....

You can unstack anything in your message center... have you found that button above each section? I'm finding some things I like stacked and other things not, so I appreciate that flexibility to use the new feature only where each of us finds it convenient.
Thank you for your promotion of the contest.... Also, any and all are welcome to join over at #DMGremlinStudios and it'd be awesome to do some more male nude features/promotions there too.

LOL... yes, just after I sent this I read another post somewhere that mentioned turning them off... didn't take long for me to find the button! 
I find stacks nice as an alternate view to see everything from one person or comments on a single print, but I'm very chronologically minded and need to see everything in that order so I can tell what I've taken care of what needs to be done yet... (sigh)... Like you mentioned in one of your comments... just need to give it time... !! =^.^=

Yes, now-a-days... I have to ask before every shoot if they have shaved or not. If they have I ask that they wait till a little of their Man-hair has grown back, I refuse to shoot a totally shaved man. forgive me if I'm wrong but I just don't think it is 'natrual' to be totally shaved... trimmed is fine, but totally shave reminds me of a hairless baby rat..... (grin).
