Thank you.

I try not to overdo it on sunsets, but there's such an infinite variety.

Thank you. I had several tries at this to try and get the light to balance good, between the lamps on the pier and the daylight. My first ones were way too orange, or did'nt have the lamps on at all. THis was taken the same afternoon as this [link]

I like the way the light changes over time produce such radically different results. Fun stuff.

aha..... this is one of the photos I haven't seen
great colours, especially that redish glow next to the pier and the little yellow in the sky
long exposure is really amazing

It is. I know your not near an ocean, but maybe a fountain, or a stream?

Thank you. I really love what long exposures do to water.

You know mzkate? [link] Great waterfalls, among other things.
And Whazel [link] too has some from the shores of Lake Superior.

Just sharing a little of where I find inspiration.

i really like both galleries, but Whazel is my favorite. there is something very unique in the pictures. also the manips and the b/w are great.

Yes, Whazel has a very unique touch to her work. Her photos were a large inspiration for myself to try these types of things. I don't want to duplicate exactly what she does, but apply the idea and style to my own surroundings here. And how bout those manips, she just started trying that out.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to stop there.

If your inclined, that may not be a bad idea. There is a friend here that had a pretty good idea. He started a themed contest on his journal, not a contest really though. The idea was that he would select a theme and then any one who wanted to join in could submit a photo based on that them. The next step was to comment and discuss each photo in detail. It got off to a slow start so he dropped it. But I liked the way it was working out. I can't invest enough time into hosting one of those, but I was happy to participate.

fabulous shot, my friend!

Thank you. Usually those orange lights just cause me grief. But in this one I was really happy with effect they had. I had run off a series of shots before these came on, and they just don't compare.

I love the composition and color in this one. The orange reflection in the water is really beautiful.
