Description Some quick designs for some upcoming work. Its fun for me to do more technical work and come up with practical designs for crazy stuff. I've worked these up in marker aswell and will post that soon.

Mr. Atkins Your Work Is Simply Fantastic... I don't Want To Sound Rude Or Dissrepect Your Work In Anyway But....Did U Get The Idea For Your Mini Mechs From The Spider Mechs From The 1984 Movie Called "Runaway" (with Tom Selleck & Gene Simmons)

Nice looks great ! how hard was it to arrive here ? Are mechanical designs difficult ? can they be done free hand ?

These were done free hand. I think I may have used a ruler on the longer gun barrel, but that might have been it. These arenet that large, maybe 4-5 inches across. Its just like those old "how to draw" books. I started with a basic shape that was determined by the function of the mech. Then add detail and figure out practical joints and weight distribution. That all makes it sound more complicated than it is actually. Mostly you start adding detail until it fills out. But I do my best to make sure that detail has a purpose.

I like the top one alot..how big are they? I think they would be really nasty to come across in a cramped tunnel or corridor.

about 4 feet long and 2-3 feet tall. Big enough to house the guns and have the stability to deal with the kick.

I dont mind it too much. WHen I doodle without anything else to draw, its often geometric in nature. Weird? I think so.

Thanks man

its just a matter of determining the function of the machine, then finding a practical framework and adding the details that would help it preform its task. That sounds very textbook, but really thats how I approach it.
