I'm not quite sure what it is, but something about this picture seems much more '3d-ish' than the others. It might be the angle or maybe the extended background but either way, I love it! The scales look fantastic, like they're actually made of cooling lava, and the foggy atmosphere from the actual lava sets the scene quite nicely. I've never seen a dragon, or any creature for that matter, whose eye-color was aΒ solid shade, especially not the same shade as their body! I think it adds a sense of immaturity to the dragon which fits as it is only a pup. Overall I really like this picture. Nicely Done!

No problem!
(Do you see what I mean about the 3d-ish thing or am I just crazy?)

Yeah, I think you're right about the forehead and wing. I don't necessarily think that the color blending was a bad thing, I kinda like the solid eye color, for previously mentioned reasons.

Maybe that would be the dragon's way of growing up! Can you imagine how dramatic the shift would be from child to teen!
"Why did Jimmy just catch fir-- Oh My God, NOW HE'S HUGE!"
"No, Jimmy! You're do big for that now!"
"Stop chasing people, Jimmy! They don't like it!"
"That person'sΒ in a wheelchair, Jimmy, leave him alone!"
"Put that old lady down, Jimmy!"
"Don't you dare eat that kid, Jimmy!"
"NO, JIMMY, NOOOOO!"
