Not every game allows you to play as an anthropomorphic, sword wielding frog speaking in arthurian tongue. But not every game is Chrono Trigger.

Frog is one of the better characters in the game, both in terms of story and gameplay. Storywise, Frog is one of the most sympathetic, well rounded and surprisingly deep characters in the game. Especially at a time when very few games featured any sort of character development at all. Frog's story was full of surprises. You thought the story was heading in one direction, but then it threw you a curveball and changed your entire perception of what came before. He was stoic, noble, and a loyal friend.

Gameplay-wise, he's second to Crono in terms of having a great balance between typical fighting skills and spell casting. His water magic takes some getting used to, but it can be really effective once you find where it's most useful. However, he doesn't have to rely on his magic like other characters, and can hold his own in a fight without having to rely on spells to make him a useful member of your party. In fact, I found that he's a good replacement for Crono when he leaves your party, offering the same great stats that Crono had when he was the lead character.

In terms of his design here, I again didn't change that much. I just gave him a bigger chest and upper body, giving him a more typical "heroic" physique.
