As I said before a critique is nothing more than a negative opinion by someone who does not necessarily know they are saying! Your work has me writing more comments and critiques than any others I have visited. Love the oriental motif. I drew two geisha as a portrait. I gave it to some lady some time ago and can't seem too track it down. This work reminded me of that work.Β

Love the pose and position of the fan that keeps the subject modest but sensual too.

I really like the painterly feel this has with the wall and the fan. I, too, got lured in by the masked inner curve. It's so fun I almst missed the similarities between elbow and handle. And the blue highlights in her hair with the gold light on her body match the colors of the fan wonderfully. All of these things work together to make a very solid piece. With an erotic red stripe as an added bonus.

Typically these types of portraits don't appeal to me, but this one really drew my eye.Β The placement of the fan is perfect.Β Being able to see the model's silhouette through the fan allows the flow of her shape to be uninterrupted and adds to the depth of the portrait.Β Beautiful work.
