Very good. I like the composition and the subtle reflection in the glass.

Thanks, Tom! Sometimes I'm too lazy to take things into 3DS Max, but funny thing is I'm always pleased when I do. This one worked out well.

Thanks, Glen! Exactly what I was going for. Color is the name of the game with that contest!
I'm not eligible for it, but it was fun creating the render!

I'm curious how you adjusted the depressed blinds where her hand is pushing them down. Did you use D-Formers?

RobF4 In reply to ZippyGuitar [2019-06-21 15:31:03 +0000 UTC]
I actually didn't use dFormers; the blinds are from the Private Eye set and they are a single object, so a dFormer would probably have only distorted them rather than divide them.
I took the mesh into 3DS Max and selected each blind and detached them from the model. Then I tessellated them (Tessellate in Max is like Subdivide in DS, except it doesn't smooth but rather retains the shape of the model). This was necessary because each blind was only two polygons.
Then I selected the polygons of the affected blinds where her hand is and chose a "soft selection", which tapers off the strength of the selection. From there, it was just a matter of using translation and rotation to move the blinds down and twist them a little.
