Ahh yes. City of Truo.Β  I'm not really a fan of this engine but I think he looks better on display. True I remember see a footage of you riding on the engine itself fromyour channel. Say, I haven't heard any updates from this engine for a while.

She is a fantastic steam engine am lucky to have in that livery when i got a model at the NRM during my birthday this summer. She was in a siding near green arrow and even thought she was hard to see her silhouetteΒ was very beautiful . I am so tempted to make a special small series of story's for her on this site. she was part of gods wonderful railway and is god wonderful engine

Was such a shame to see her sitting there, pretty much forgotten and looking rather scruffy and sorry for herself. She was the first loco that I ever fired back in 2006 when she was at the Strathspey Railway. Spent many a happy hour polishing her there too, I made sure she was always immaculately turned out each day when she was running!

The second Steam engine over 100mph after The New York Centrals no. 999

Think you'll find NYC 999's claims of 100mph are at best wishful thinking when you look at it in greater detail, she was a fairly out-dated design, especially where the valve gear was concerned. It would have been physically impossible to get enough steam into and out of her cylinders again to reach 100mph.

Having said all that, 999 is a fine machine still and certainly could sprint compared to it's contemporaries, just perhaps not at the speeds claimed.

She was the first engine to go over 100mph here in the uk and I am not interested in USA railways or engines mate

I would have to say, this would be one of my favorites as well, again, more based on the classic design, since I don't really know that much of any of all their stats ...unlike you.

Drive her? ?
That really does sound like a great experience.
Nothing to be afraid of; you are passionate about these kinds of things, and they are too your interest; I like locomotives and model railroading, hence my comment/s.
