Ahh yes. City of Truo.Β I'm not really a fan of this engine but I think he looks better on display. True I remember see a footage of you riding on the engine itself fromyour channel. Say, I haven't heard any updates from this engine for a while.

Was such a shame to see her sitting there, pretty much forgotten and looking rather scruffy and sorry for herself. She was the first loco that I ever fired back in 2006 when she was at the Strathspey Railway. Spent many a happy hour polishing her there too, I made sure she was always immaculately turned out each day when she was running!

Think you'll find NYC 999's claims of 100mph are at best wishful thinking when you look at it in greater detail, she was a fairly out-dated design, especially where the valve gear was concerned. It would have been physically impossible to get enough steam into and out of her cylinders again to reach 100mph.

She was the first engine to go over 100mph here in the uk and I am not interested in USA railways or engines mate
