Wow, just wow. I personally love stuff like this, but I'm going to try to be as unbiased as I can be. For one, it's a picture that can be easily fallen in love with. Very good Visual at first glance

Originality: I've only seen one other picture similar to this, but to me it was just a picture. this is more inspiring though.

Technique, and Impact:

When someone sees a image like this, they assume it's about Death... Loss... Despair.

What I see in concept, however, is remembrance of a sweet or passionate memory, acceptance and embracing reality (gazing into the eyes of all life's end goal).

The hand on the person's cheek can mean that the loss loved one still loves them even beyond death. Or is it a concept of the passionate lovers of Life and Death as manifested characters? Or Acceptance of something seen so evil, but is in fact reality? Romantic in many ways to me.

In colors, I see that there's shades of grey and white. In some European decent, black is a color of death or evil, which isn't exactly there. Obviously there's a skull though, so to me, it's like a saying that nothing is as evil as it seems, even in Death.

Very symbolic to me, amazing in concept, perfect lighting that sets a more mysterious deep meaning mood for it.
The feelings I get from it is some kind of the white silence crushing feeling you get when your crush is near. haha
very beautiful.

Staring death in the face.

A powerful image even among powerful images.

I adore this picture. I love the lighting. I love the black and white. I love the tone of her eyes, the expression on her face. One could even argue the skull has an expression.

Its almost saying "You and I, in time, will be one and the same"

Terrifying, Poignant, and amazingly powerful.

I don't think any more needs to be said. Anybody who needs to seek out a problem with this picture has too much time on their hands and just cannot appreciate art as it is.

This is so well done in every way, I feel it come out of my computer screen. The way it is posed, how it is such a close-up view, it's so perfect.

I would swear that the skeleton is in fact expressing emotion here.
I could swear the skeleton is the lover of the living person in the picture.

Obviously the person has emotion too.

I love the tonality, how there is a lot of contrast, too.

How close it is makes the emotion strong, too I think.

I just love this in every way, which probably isn't that great of a critique, but I do.

It's from the eyes of the inspired that I write this.

I have no experience with photography or manipulation. I have no talent for art outside the words I put on a page. Still, that isn't to say I can't recognize something above and beyond our common understanding of greatness when it is presented before me...

In my thesis course we once discussed the term "Sublime," and it took us the entirety of the semester to come to unanimous understanding of it. Sublimity is the apex of achievement in art; it is the echelon above flawlessness, where a work has achieved a force and power of its own, a sort of 'dark moment,' where the experience of it leaves the reader (or in this case viewer) marked and never the same.

I may be embellishing slightly, but I think I make my point. "Eternity" completes the circle of life and death in a single frame, capturing both and drawing forth more than thoughts of "Oh! How beautiful!" as we look upon it. It is work that far surpasses anything we expect to find, even if we are looking for something great...

Well this is my first critique ever, the very first and the firm thought came into my mind when I saw this deviation that both of them are try to feel each other.

Life is so amazed to see death so close, astonished and looks speechless of having this much closure experience of death. The human is feeling pleasure to experience his near end in this way and seems to be enjoying the surprising moment.

While at the other end the skull is feeling the life and seems missing those faded shadows of life he had been to once.

Both of them are seems to be realizing & embracing each other and fully aware of the importance and worth of each other.

The only flaw in my sense that it needed to be cropped more from top. The bared forehead of human is not feeling good here. It would better to be cropped just from middle of the forehead.

My final words for this work:

A superb piece of art so meaningful.

I really don't know where to start.
I stared at the photo for several moments to and I still don't know if I'll be able to express my feelings in words.

This is an extraordinary concept. The skeleton is touching the human's face in a way, that I cannot define if it's threatening or soothing.
In any case, it is like they're talking to each other through their eyes. The human is gazing at the "smiling" skull, his mouth slightly open, utterly mesmerized.

You've chosen chosen a clever and mysterious title: Eternity.
Eternity.. for someone believing in a God, it is probably, what follows death.
But most people, regardless of their belief, are afraid of death.
After all you can never be sure what (if anything) happens next.
Nonetheless, what remains for sure after death, is dust and bones.

Maybe, that's what the skeleton is trying to say.

About the technical part, I really like the fact that you chose b&w and that the light is coming from the background, it creates a quaint atmosphere.

The only flaw I can see, has to do with the sharpness. I think the photo would look better if it was a tad sharper.

Apart from that, it is an outstanding photograph and I think it deserves a Daily Deviation. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>
[I'd suggest it, if you hadn't gotten one a couple of weeks ago. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> ]

omg that's beautiful!!! On a whim I searched for "eternity" (332,541 results...) and only 6 images down - this... this incredible, striking, absorbing, offering. This is one of those moments when all seems suspended harmonic perfection. I have a... ermm... "talent" for overstating things so I'll stop. But wow, this is nice!

The idea could have seemed cliche', but the expression captured on his face, the placement of the skeletal hand, the visual composition itself, all make this a work to which one finds oneself drawn again and again.

SO
THE

DECIDED
THAT
THE

AND
SHE
WAS

SHE

NOW
EVERY

SHE

Oh, shut up. Don't spam the internet with this shit, it's almost as bad as the "find out who unfriended you on facebook" thing which just posts more ads of itself on your profile without your permission.
Seriously, you're NOT going to die if you don't repost this, that's a load of crap.

Oh, and also, your caps and lack of punctuation just makes this even less believeable. Not to mention, who would have wrote this in the first place, let alone came up with the idea that reposting it 20 times would keep you from dying? Seriously, it makes NO SENSE at all. This is about as real as smile.jpg or Jason the axe-murderer. As in, only in our minds. They do not really exist.
