Ok, it just looks kinda swollen, so I figured they were... glands of some sort. Snake anatomy isn't something I exel in. Maybe it's just a trick of the light.
Welcome ^^

naw, just the shape of his head. because he is a python he has a different head shape than boa constritors anc colubrids and venomous snakes

thank you. he is an excellent model to photograph lol.
he knows he looks good and he shows it

hopefully soon i can go up to a friend of mines house and photograph her womas (Aspidites ramsayi) and her black- head pythons (Aspidites melanocephalus) and hopefully in the next six months to year i will be able to go to my friends place and photograph some of his hots. he is a biologist and specializes in venomous reptiles. so he has quite the collection. all of them in naturalistic environments .
it's too cool right now for nerodia, atrox and agkistrodon. Micrurus are hard to find down in these parts but hopefully we can photograph some a bit later this year, once it warms up again those will be next years things to look forward to. but then we have our native non-venomous to look forward to as well

robinism In reply to princessmartini [2006-12-01 18:53:49 +0000 UTC]

the snake in your gallery is also a green tree python. they come in many different shades of blue and green and have some different patterns. they have somewhat large range and they vary from area to area. they come from the islands off of Thailand all the way to papua new guinea. thats a beautiful python
