For this illustration I imagined there would be a great threat that forced Varian Wrynn & Garrosh Hellscream to finally team up when their individual strenght was not enough anymore.I made the image for the World of Warcraft Tribute book - and it will be in there
I must admit, I was a huge fan of the first 3 Warcraft games but I choose to not play World of Warcraft (because I'm sure I'll get hooked and lose my job!) I do however care a lot for it's characters, locations and the history behind it all. So That's why I made my contribution Enjoy!

I kind of like the image. I always had a feeling that Varian and Garrosh did have some similarities in their character when they first appeared. Both were strong fighters for their own faction with great distrust and even dislike for the other one. Eventually they developed in rather differten directions, Varian growing more respinsible and Garrosh turning almost mad. But I always wondered if they could have been something like brothers in arms or even friends in a parallel universe.

This happening? Yeah no, never going to happen. Garrosh would slit his throat the moment Varian was weakened and he had the opportunity, even if it meant Garrosh's own demise. His pride is bigger than any logical reasoning.

Its good that you liked making this picture because its well drawn and awesome. But do you have any idea what it was that made them team up, I mean it would have to be something big like Deathwing, The lich king and all the other baddies came back to life and started attacking orgrimmar or something

No, I didn't specificly imagine what the great threat would be, mainly I had little room left in the image to show that in a decent way. But I think it's also nice that everyone can imagine his/her favorite story that would lead to this team-up, since there could be so many interesting reasons to do so

This is like a double-barrelled tank: Varian is the engine, Garosh is the heavy artillery and armor, while varian is the closest combat barrel. Guckin' BRILLIANT!

It's like Garrosh is kind of hugging Varian from behind, kind of like brothers.
I am in love with this. I think I'm starting to have a crush on Garrosh, maybe because he's a real warchief, just like the real warchiefs from the original Horde.

Edit: I don't mean to say this is him being very warchief-like. I'm saying that I'm liking Garrosh as he is in the story.

I must admit, the look of the sword made me go "Wut?", looks like some form of super destroyed version of it, but attempted remade by humans, who (of course) failed badly and left him a bad excuse of a sword that he simply uses out of principle, and not because he wants to.
Besides this, kinda trivial, thing it looks absolutely amazing, congratulations on this magnificent piece of art and it's, if I might say, well earned place in the World of Warcraft Tribute book.

I must say I am glad Varian stopped Thrall from putting a hammer in Garrosh's skull. I like Thrall but Varian gained a lot of respect from me with that one. And it was a good setup that left room for some story later, I'm really eager to know of his fate.
