Primitive inhabitants of the Forest Moon of Endor, the Ewoks may look cute and cuddly, but they are actually quite capable of handling themselves in combat. The Ewoks initially believed the Rebels that came to Endor were intruders, although Leia was able to befriend Wicket. When they saw C-3PO, they believed him to be their god and prepared to turn Luke, Han, and Chewie into a feast in his honor, only for Luke to use the Force to make C-3PO's throne levitate in order to scare the Ewoks into releasing them. After Threepio told the tribe of the Rebels' adventures, the Ewoks accepted them into their tribe and allied with them to free Endor. They make use of low-level technology, using weapons like spears, slings, bow-and-arrows, and knives, and utilizing hang gliders as vehicles. They also created several traps and armaments to protect their villages, including logs that can crush or trip up AT-STs, net traps baited with meat, and catapults to launch large rocks at opponents. While primitive, they proved to be quick learners, as Paploo was able to hijack a speeder bike (albeit hanging on with just his hands) to distract a group of Scout Troopers, and two more Ewoks aided Chewbacca in hijacking and piloting an AT-ST. Ewoks enjoyed singing and making music for rituals, festivals, and celebrations, with one even using Imperial helmets as drums. They speak a language known as Ewokese, which protocol droids like C-3PO can translate and speak in, but due to how primitive it is, they may have a bit of trouble with doing so (at one point, C-3PO thought he said "Hello" to them, but he wasn't entirely sure).
