Description So Celia really doesn't really have a bike like that; rather she drives that beat-up, crusty, old A-Team van from the 1980's (eighty-twelve points for those obserbant ones), but maybe one day if she's nice to Santa all year...

This poster is 36" x 22" and painted using the digital water color and chalk brushes in Painter. Oh yeah, and don't forget that stupid fire brush. I like the fire brush: it's got that mega-cheese factor. Other cheese-tastic effects like the shinies were put in using Photoshop. The lines were created using real-life graphite sticks and ink dispensers (All cheeply bought in bulk or found on the floor).

Ahh-kay... now to something different.

Wow.. I never got around to seeing this one.. It looks great, man! But was this originally a smaller sketch? It seems like you blew this up from a small drawing because of the rather thick lines and how everything (especially in her face and torso) seems a bit simplified.. I dunno.. Overall it's a brilliant piece, man!

Bikes are a lot of fun! There's just so much freedom to their designs. What kind are you thinking to do?

Well I am looking for refs right now, I am going to try and tech it up and make it cycber like, but right now I am simpley working on perspective.

Ooh, cyber... is it gonna' be a crotch-rocket or a recumbant bike?

The perspective is definately a little challenging, but it's probaly easier to just design it from the side first before adding perspective.

well I have everything blocked in, and i maid it simple perspective, its mostly on the side with the front weel turned, it works fine on my grid its the design I am still unsure off, I will belooking for refs later.

Well, I just won't be able to get the exact same lines-work out of it, but maybe the 3-d would just be considered a different style...

Yes! american chopper style Im glad you finally colored that bike...it looks bad ass! I really like the perspective on it. You draw yourself riding with her in the back.

RoboGoGoRobo In reply to andrewk [2004-04-18 08:17:16 +0000 UTC]

Filters rule! But the only filter used in the the background was a motion blur on the rear grass layer- the rest was colored with a soft chalk brush (Chalk brush? Stupid computers) in Painter. Actually, this image is too small to see the paper textures from Painter...

FarelleMoon [2004-04-16 14:59:19 +0000 UTC]

Hum... I don't know what it is exactly but for some reason this is really unappealing. I think it maybe that the picture looks smudged rather than smeared. Don't be mad, I'm just trying to be honest. The bike s really well drawn though and the colors all work well with eachother.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoboGoGoRobo In reply to FarelleMoon [2004-04-17 02:55:25 +0000 UTC]

Is there a diffence between smudged and smeared? i didn't smudge or smear anything. eh, I'm actually still painting the background... needs more desert...

FarelleMoon In reply to RoboGoGoRobo [2004-04-18 02:14:24 +0000 UTC]
