The dark background creates bette contrast, helping the figure and the milk stand out more; especially the milk, which kind of gets lost against the lighter background, IMO.

I agree, but it seems many people like lighter colors for some reason. It seems the favorites are tied at the moment though. Oh well, so much for that theory
