Gene Wilder is a GOD. A GOD OF SWEETNESS AND KICKASSITY. Oh my god, that movie was so absojollylutelyfukin' adorable!! Not like the new one. The new one is good, (I really love the candy meadow!!) but it's sort of more creepy and less lovable.
Tho anything with Jhonny Depp in it is something beautiful for me

haha..i agree...it didn't have as much character as the original...it WAS closer to the book....but this is one of the rare instances where the book was not as cool as the movie...i mean, hell...there were CANDY FROGS in the original...those wern't in the book!
