They all look to be based on Classic Mega Man's 8-bit standing sprite.

Basicly. Since the main Sonic cast is primarily based on the same body-type, I thought it'd be a good idea to base it all on Rock's body type. Also would make it easier to expand upon for making more sprites in this style.
