Only sometimes, my gallery is split up in categores. One of the categores is "avatar repaints" which is me drawing over avatars, and the other is stuff I have drawn from scratch.

I've had urges to do repaints, but always wondered if people would say that's cheating and I'd be a bad artist -_-

Well it depends; on IMVU it's a widely accepted art form to edit and repaint avatars. I don't think it's cheating, really but it's always good to be able to draw from scratch too! I make it a point to separate my avatar art and my drawn from scratch art, though.

But as always opinions will vary, because art is subjective. There's many people who say that anime artists are bad artists, even if they can draw it from scratch and draw it well. I say, do what you love and love doing it!
