Description While travelling for about three weeks across Namibia we encountered some wonderful landscapes and wildlife. Here's a herd of male springboks gathered for shade under an acacia tree in Etosha National Park. Grups of male springbok of thirty to fifty are everywhere, in large parts of the country.  Etosha is really amazing, with lots of animals moving several times a day between areas with food and waterholes. The visitor is bound to stay in the vehicle, producing some obvious limitations for photography. Not being a wildlife photographer at all, I will appreciate your comments Nikon V2, 30-110mm, zoomed in to c. 190 mm equivalent FF.

I really like this one as well. I hope to create a scene like this in animated 3D software that will feature zebras, oryxes and (probably wild asses, not sure yet) standing under an acacia tree with background and........(minus the vehicle)
This is VERY inspiring for me to look at, I think I'll be able to create shimmering heat waves as well in the animation. I prolly won't model 3D springboks, but I will model gazelles, as I definitely have plans to animate them especially.

Decided to watch you. Thanks.

Now, I guessed the time the shot was taken and appear to have been correct. How did I know without looking at the EXIF data?

That van makes the image.

Great work, Rob.

for me the van expresses the many times we stopped for animals crossing, not only in Etosha, but all over Namibia, enjoying the scene - cheers!
