This is based on the classic scene from SpongeBob episode Just One Bite as well as the Nostalgia Critic's review of Moulin Rouge. If you watch Mysterious Mr. Enter, you find out that Spongebob has no soul.
Your thing is hilarious, and well thought out, but I just can't think of the sponge as being a good guy any more. Oh woe is me.

I fell you, brother, and yes, I do indeed watch Mr. Enter. Even though, I think SpongeBob did have a soul until the movie, when he sold it off to the Devil for a few more seasons.
