Description This is my current project.

I have been asked to photograph the gas pump.  This is the first shoot.  I also want to shoot it while it is cloudy and another shoot with the pump wet.  I am trying many different angles.

I will post the final when I have the other 2 shoots complete.  Actually, I may post each of my favorites....

My biggest challenge today were the white doors.  You can see one in this photo, there is also a garage door to the right of the window.  The sun made them steal the focus from the pump.  The shadows are also a challenge.  While it would be interesting to have the shadow, it is falling directly onto the white door which pulls focus away from the pump.  I am looking forward to the cloudy shoot to see how it looks when the white doors aren't glowing.

Cool shot, I'd love to see a closeup of that old pump.

Thanks!
I'll post the closeups after I finish all 3 versions.  Keep your fingers crossed for either a cloudy day and/or rain this weekend!

Back when the attendant filled the tank, cleaned the windows, and checked your oil...

There is still one FULL service station by me (about 20 miles away) that does it all. The owner worked there as a teen, and he runs it like he did back then. He PERSONALLY checks over your car, but I wonder how long it will last, as he is about 70.

How nice!
It will be sad when it is gone.

Around here, we are hoping SOMEONE in the family will take it up and run it like him. It has the no lack of clientele, even though it is a bit more expensive per gallon, mainly because people love to go there.
