Description The Sun and The Star

Argentina, Diego, and Chile, Manuel.

Drawing done thinking about when they where kids, before the independence, and Diego was not the named Viceroy yet.

They were very good friends, to the point of to call each other "brother".

When Diego is named for to become a Viceroy and take the Patagonia with him, next to Uruguay, Paraguay, the Malvinas/Falklands Islands, part of Bolivia, etc. Manuel gets kind fo mad at him, because of the taking of his cousin, the Patagonia.

Leaving there their first big fght about her- Anyway, Diego told him to stop messing around with his demands, because she was taken by the grandparents even before given to him. She was gave in name, but she was at the hands of their grandparents (the natives).

In the novel, Spain gave The Patagonia to Diego because he makes a huge scandal after her loss, and calling him not capable of to take proper care of any of them.
-Being one of the moments where Diego changes and starts acting like an adult, wearing long pants and taking responsibilities that once where of Spain without consulting-

He, as viceroy, lasted only 34 years, and then started his independence against Spain.

Diego always was more outstanding and of a "bright" presence, Spain was softer to him than to the rest. Maybe because of Diego's nature to convince people, or the same Diego's admirations towards Europe, as much because of his easy-going personality.

He was always more related to the everlasting and warm sun.

Meanwhile Manuel always stared from afar, just watching all that surrounded him, always thinking what was so different between them. Because there was always a line that Diego drew, for more open he looked, that he could never cross.
Or maybe that line was done just by Manuel in itself.

I don't even know.

So, Manuel is more like an star, the brightest star- that waits that just stands out when people decides to look at him properly.

After much writing I discovered that the reasons Manuel gets madder at Diego is because he got apart from him, and he wished, like when they were kids, to be always together.

But when seeing that so many things got in the middle, he started to feel resentment, but not because of the same things in itself, but for the distance that was growing and how much he yearned for Diego to go back to rescue him, like he used to do.

Thing that happened during the Pacific war, were Diego did not take any side of the War between Chile and PerΓΊ, because he said that all that was "A messed up bunch of trash".

I own story and Chars.
