Description Ugh. The first painting I've made in a while. I totally hate how this came out. The colors bled into each other like hell.

Anyways. This is a painting made in similar likeness to the Sistine Chapel (or, at least, I tried to make it like it. Probably failed though), except with Pokemon. Here we have PokeGod (Arceus) and it's godly familiars (Azelf, Uxie, and Mespirit) creating PokeAdam (Mew).

I it just me, or is it really weird how theological themes have gotten into the Pokemon series lately? Hell, if this continues, we might be seeing Pokemon deities similar to ones from the Cthulu mythos or Warhammer fantasy.
Come to think of it, that would be pretty cool...

Well, we've got Taoist pokegods and a Pokemon bearing some similarity to a Great Old One, so probably.

I just find adding a new "ultimete pokemon" every game takes away from the story abit though in black and white i bet it's a yingyang concept. But still great artwork.

I still think the whole "Arceus is God" thing is BS, but eh... this is still a lovely art piece.

So was it an Arbok or a Seviper that made Mew eat the berry of knowledge?

There hasn't been a goat PokΓ©mon yet man

Also, if they gave Houndoom another evolution it could grow a couple heads, bingo, Pokecerberus.

Guarding the gates of Pokehades.
Wait, that's Greek mythology, not Christian.
Oh well. I don't think that matters in Pokemon.

Let's just mix it all together, it's what every other JRPG does

Goddamn crazy-ass Japanese game designers can't get their obscure mythologies straight.

Well, pokemon has always had hints of animism, elemental personification, Maat/cosmic balance (humans and pokemon living together etc .), and nature worship in it. I mean, the legendary birds were around for a long time for one thing, and if those aren't quasi-deific I don't know what is.

Yeah, but in Generation 4 (Diamond/Pearl) they introduced an actual god of pokemon

Wow. Created the whole pokemon universe.

And you can catch it? o.0 That seems kinda, blasphemous, or something.

It's madness.
Truly, pokeballs are the work of the devil.

So then, when you catch Poke-demiurge, do you gain the power over life and death, ability to edit the game rules. power to create new species, etc?
