Description EDIT: wow! thankyou everyone for all the s on this work over 1200 in the first 24 hours and still going I'd love to thank everyone individually but when i try dA thinks I'm a spam-bot so i shall just say a big thankyou here to everyone who takes the time to look and to those who choose to

my first upload of 2013 ( even if i did make this piece at the end of 2012...)

this is my second entry into s fractal manipulation contest
more details found in the journal here kittylafurr.deviantart.com/jou…

EDIT II: a pphotograph of a print of this piece framed up and on display in a small exhibition actually did get uploaded before this digital image and can be found in my gallery here

:thumb342685324: :thumb342683157:

EDIT III: my mom asked that for her birthday i create her an edit of this work but less in the copper and brown colours and more in aqua and silver colours to match her front room...

:thumb353755202:

the original reference for the cogs in this can be found here sleepite.deviantart.com/art/Co… though i usually just nab them (the cog shapes that is) from my older works where i have used the same resource before.
all other textures and fractal stock are my own, some can be found in my fractal stock folder and some in my texture stock folder, some parts are even recycled from older works of mine.

Hello, I really loved this drawing and I have been looking for a long time ago a cover that passed the idea of a book that I am writing, I would like to know if i can use the image (with the copyright) just for the cover in wattpad (a free, non-profit publishing platform for amateur writers only). I do not know when I will start posting the book, but the name is Mechanical Wing (Asa Mecânica, in Portuguese). And that's not going to be the final cover if I post to sell. If you want more details, I can send you how the cover would be and my user there

Hello, this is a favourite image of mine and i would be delighted if  you wanted to use it, as long as appropriate credit for the image is given, however i can't let you use the image for a final cover - but if you would want an image to use for it  I would be more than happy to create a similar image just for your project

thankyou for the compliment I love to play with lots of details and textures in my work  - or else the flip side is bold blocky shapes  - but this one was more of a 'i must include ALL the things!'

it was also one of those artworks that i tried in one colour, and then another, then another then mentally flailed about a lot as it seemed to work in most colourways i tried in the end i stuck with the brown and rust colours as it fitted more with the 'mechanical' element

thankyou kindly for the compliment and I have a soft spot for all things fractal and steampunk also but this piece was the first time i considered putting the two together, I must admit the results here were half intentional and half luck with experimentation

Thankyou kindly for the compliment this was my stand-out piece for my December exhibition so I really went to town with the textures s a way to develop the style i have with my fractal manipulations, I think I have a couple of photos of framed prints of this that I added some metallic inks to - the one in this colour with some gold ink on it etc. was sold but a different colour edit in aqua with silver and green inks on it has found its way onto my mom's wall - after 18 years she has finally hung another piece of my work on her wall ( the first time she did was something I doodled for the kitchen when i was about 12 or 13) so its a bit of an achievement there haha!

Loll, I totally understand that. Books are crazy epensive! even eBooks are way too much, buuuuut... I still get em lol. I'm an addict ;D

rockgem In reply to SilverRosess [2013-01-26 15:27:29 +0000 UTC]

i have a mix of normal books and ebooks but i find i like to shop a lot in junk shops & older books have a lot of character that sometimes the newer ones lack

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SilverRosess In reply to rockgem [2013-01-27 12:45:06 +0000 UTC]

I love those old book shops that smell like pages of books. And when they have couches and coffee, all the better! And old books are awesome, biut a lot of times I can't get into the writing, so I fall back on new ones, lol. For a book nerd, I'm kind of a fail >.<

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to SilverRosess [2013-01-28 16:58:44 +0000 UTC]

me too. most the time it depends on the genre or my mood. i usually end up with several books i am reading at any given time as my mood changes even us book nerds have their categories they are not so keen on ( for me it would be Jane Austin )

SilverRosess In reply to rockgem [2013-01-29 18:14:22 +0000 UTC]

Lol! Every time I try and read something like that its like my brain is melting. I DO want to give LOTR books a chance though. I feel like they wouldn't be so painful, since they have elves... and Legolas... nothing involving Legolas can be boring

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to SilverRosess [2013-01-29 21:08:50 +0000 UTC]

i think the trouble with LoTR and The Hobbit is that so many names are similar not to mention there is so much more in the books than the movies.
