... I kind of love typing that name.
Keheh, I was inspired to do this by this months theme(/art theme) on the "Visual_Fuckers" (Japanese street fashion themed) LJ community: fairy tales. I've always loved this one. Baby-stealing, clearly perverted thieving gnome/dwarf/elf-thingies that spin gold and finish by ripping themselves in half (in revised Grimm Brothers editions). What is there not to like?
Sure, no big bad wolf ... I'd love to shake his hand ... buuut, eh.I edited the colours in PhotoShop because they were just ... bloody awful. The original if you're interested is posted up here ... but you wouldn't be missing much, I prefer it like this. XD I clearly haven't used my markers anywhere near enough recently, I'm so rusty with them! ;-; I almost managed to chug a bottle of masking fluid at least about four times while doing the background on this. Small cold glass bottles can sort of resemble hot mugs of tea when you're not paying attention. Clearly I hadn't used that in a while either.
Urm.
Materials: Staedtler liners, Copic and Letraset markers (zomgIloveProMarkers ... £2eachyumyum), acrylic paint, ink, watercolour mask and coloured pencils. The usual suspects.
Music: Combichrist, Iced Earth and Bal-Sagoth.
Time taken: ... Yesterday before dinner, and today afterwards! >:3 *measures life in plates washed*

oh I love the limited palette here. VERY nice. And that face, the expression is wonderful as is the added stitches that kind of screw with your head. He looks too real to be a doll, but too dollike to be real. Nice work.

Awesome interpretation. Love the little things that identify him, like the nametag and the stitches down the front of his face (split himself in HALF!)

I like your artwork, and this one seems particularly fun to me so I have +faved it. Cool interpretation of the character! Rumplestiltskin always scared me as a kid. But if THIS guy was Rumplestiltskin, I feel I could approach him. ^.^

Oh man, I've been a huge fan of "Rumplestiltskin" ever since my brother performed in them high school play and kicked fucking ASS as the King (as he was probably the only one that made the play awesome as it was for such a minor role).
That set aside, this picture is amazing. It looks like you totally punked out Rumplestiltskin with the clothes (which I like a lot, mind you. I want to wear the clothes you draw. Wah) and all those piercings. ...not that that's a bad thing. No. Er. Yes. Ha.
Clever little trick with the "??????" in "Hello, my name is" tag. That smiley face above it cracks me up.
And I really like the stitches going down his face. Kind of makes him look more of a doll.
