Description Taken very close to just a bit to the left. the peak you see here is the 'Oberberghorn'. Me and my father actually climbed it, there is path though, we didn't do any rock-climbing.

It was taken on the trip to Shynige Platte. journal

Wonderful shot. I like the composition of the other one better, but the light on this one is marvelous. Maybe a bit more sharpening to really bring out the textures of the foreground rocks, but that is just my opinion, and it is the artists opinion that really matters!

rocqua In reply to madrush08 [2010-05-05 12:10:39 +0000 UTC]

PS, based on what you said, i went back and edited the other shot I increased the effect of the light, and reduced the overdone redness on the rocks in the foreground.

let me know what you think

This shot is really good to man. What lens you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rocqua In reply to brewer23 [2009-10-21 19:31:45 +0000 UTC]

thanks .

i used the tokina 12-24. though I am not yet sure if it is as sharp as I would like.
it does however give my the wide angle that I need, so I'm happy with it.

brewer23 In reply to rocqua [2009-10-22 00:34:11 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the 10d is full frame isnt it? So you would be getting a nice range there

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rocqua In reply to brewer23 [2009-10-22 11:19:33 +0000 UTC]

no, sadly the 10D is not, it's a 2003 (i think) model. it's the bigger brother of the 350D.
If the camera were full-frame, the lens wouldn't work, cause it's aps-c only.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brewer23 In reply to rocqua [2009-10-25 12:05:16 +0000 UTC]

ohh yeah. Its a good camera all the same. I've only got the 400d and now my girlfriends old 30d but i prefer the 400d has a newer image sensor.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rocqua In reply to brewer23 [2009-10-25 20:58:59 +0000 UTC]

it isn't the best camera around, but there is nothing wrong with it, as long as i stay at iso 100, and don't need digital zoom, it's as good (if not better) as any other camera. besides, the camera doesn't take pictures, we do.

just wondering, what are the differences between the 30D and 400D. from what I know, the X0D series usually have better build qualities (like metal housing). than the X00D series.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brewer23 In reply to rocqua [2009-10-25 22:15:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeh the feel of the 30d is much much better and it takes a better portrait photo. Just doesnt work very well for landscape the dynamic range of the camera just lacks. Doesnt seem to cover yellow and green tones very well either, plus its noise is alot higher then the 400d.
My partner has just got a 5d Mark II so i might start using that every now and then too.

Agreed with the dust spots, just clone them out and you got a winner!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

rocqua In reply to kkart [2009-10-20 14:13:40 +0000 UTC]

dust spots fixed, and changed some curves layers.

hope this is better

rocqua In reply to kkart [2009-10-20 14:03:18 +0000 UTC]

NOES
not dust spots again

i was thinking about redoing it anyway, since I edited it with wrong colour settings in PS, I'll clone out the dust at the same time.
