Christmas came early for me when I got a new figure I pre-ordered back in the summer came in the mail yesterday. It's the Wal-Mart exclusive Marvel Legends Cel-Shaded Spider-Man Retro Figure. This figure is painted to resemble how he appeared in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series that aired on Fox Kids. Funny story of how I managed to get this figure. When the pre-orders went live, this sold out pretty quickly. But when I came back from a dentist appointment on the same day, they quickly came back in stock. Not wanting to take any chances, I preordered the figure. I admit, this figure is an improvement over the first Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends figures in terms of accessories. Besides the fist hands and web shooting hands, he also includes open hands for wall crawling and two webs. I've looked up reviews and still haven't figured out if the webs are suited for one of the three pairs of hands. But anyway, first photo shows the figure with all the included accessories. Second and third shows how the figure is painted, showing how it looks like it was lifted straight from an animation cel. The fourth photo is him displayed in a wall crawling pose. The fifth photo shows my new Spider-Man figure with the web slinging hands. The sixth is a side by side comparison with my first Marvel Legends Spider-Man figure. My new Spider-Man's colors are brighter compared to the older one. He's also not as muscular and I think he's a bit shorter. I've taken photos of my new Spider-Man figure with my custom Mary Jane figure along with my figures of Gwen Stacy, the Black Cat, J. Jonah Jameson and the Hobgoblin along with my brother's Green Goblin figure.
