Today is the start of Mermay. So what better way to start it off then to upload a drawing I recently made of one of my favorite Disney Princesses: Ariel from "The Little Mermaid". I decided to draw her with her bag she used to store human stuff she collects from the beginning of the movie. Jodi Benson gave Ariel a beautiful voice when voicing the character, especially when she sings. The Little Mermaid helped put Disney in the animation spotlight again after failures such as "The Black Cauldron". Ariel also helped start the change in how Disney princesses are portrayed in later movies. Disney also did justice to the story, making it better than the original tale. When Disney were going to import the movie to the country the original tale was released, Denmark, the people at Disney were worried about how the people would receive the changed ending, even warning Queen Margrethe II about it beforehand. Her response to the new ending was along the lines of "He never knew how to write an ending anyways."The Little Mermaid is property of Disney.
