Description No one epitomized more the laid back, easy going, open road charm and masculinity of the 70's then Burt Reynolds.  His career came full circle starting in television with shows like Gunsmoke, Hawk and Dan August. His big break and fame catapulted in 1972 in the film Deliverance where city men were tested against the elements of a white water wilderness and the unsavory intentions of hill billy mountain men. Followed up with arguably the greatest sports film committed to celluloid with the Longest Yard. He was regarded as the biggest box office draw of the 70's with  hits like Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit and the Cannonball Run. AS his film appeal began to wane he returned to the small screen with Evening Shade. In the 90's he got an Oscar nod for his performance in Boogey Nights, a film he was reluctant to positively acknowledge for a number of years. Sadly, he never got to mark the end of his career with a role in Tarantino's latest film. Oh, the possibilities.

Fantastic!

I'm sort of surprised that you didn't go with the flashier silver jacket ...

I could be mixing up my actors, especially since I'm now officially of that age where that happens.  But I thought Burt might have been famous with the LaManns Silver Jacket and the cowboy hat.  I know I had gotten a jacket like that back in the 1970s, though my Pop thought it was a bit odd for someone not only as small as I am but being a girl.  Then again, later I had gotten some snake skin cowboy boots to go along with my leather cowboy hat too.

Sorry.  I think he wore it either during Hooper or in a few scenes of Smokey and the Bandit.

Whoops!  It was a Trans Am/Firebird jacket from Hopper ...

You mean Stroker Ace ... a really fun movie to be sure.  Actually, any of these movies would be a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with a steak or some pizza.

Now that I have said that, I probably will watch Smokey and the Bandit this weekend ... after a good bit of research for the next tabletop story.
