Description A page about winged steeds (80% horses and no ostriches ). What I did here in most cases was just to think of different ways winged flight evolved in natural history and apply it to a horse like creature or any other way to solve the problem of giving lift to 400 kg of mammal. Nothing special, and people comment to tell me I'm creative for doing this? ho no, I'm a scamm! whaaaaa! (leaves the room and bursts into tears)
(Calms down and returns) Pegasi are supposed to symbolize imagination and artistic expresion, so there couldn't be a better page to reveal my fraud.

771) Cerv'magedei: I got this concept of the evil stag spirit from somewhere. With the flames, the wings, and the ... evil. So, there you have it.

772) Dactylopterohippos: Has the same kind of wings as pterodactyls, etymologically it is. This one technically walks on it s wrists and the fingers are bent backwards and hold the wing membrane.

773) Omnibrachiopterix: I thought this was the most likely way for a horse to use bird-like wings, since a new pair of limbs is highly unlikely in evolutionary terms and a single pair of wings just doesn't seem enough.

774) Tetrachimerai: Similar in some ways to the omnibrachiopterix; it is a somehow normal horse with two pairs of feathered wings. However, the wings in this creature come from completely fictional pairs of limbs and the legs are therefore free to gait with optimal efficiency.

775) Pterippus: What I consider the most likely structure for a creature most closely looking like an actual pegasus; a single pair of wings between and distinguishable from the legs. So I used extentions of the ribs like lizards from the Draco genus, the only problem here is that there isn't any record of creatures ever using this method for real flight and is instead used for gliding only.

776) Chirobrachiopterix: (far right) This one has the same kind of wings as bats. This came up to be a fun combination, since bats use four fingers to create the wing surface, but horses only have one finger, making the wing look something like one of a pterodactyl. Even then the single finger in horses makes up for an important part of the leg and they need it extended for walking. because of that the creature ended up looking as if walking on stilts.

777) Aerogigas: A flying elephant. No, I'm don't think that thing might ever get even near walking, even with the tail, ears, legs, wings, and everything used to sustain its weight, but at least it tryied really hard to.

778) Ethermelus: This one is just plain ridiculous. I used up all the decent excuses for flight with the horses, better luck with the next one.

779) Anaarthroptera: An insect like pegasus. I liked this one, its kinda Barbie in a way. The pegasus being already a girly enough mytholgical creature combining it with a pretty butterfly doesn't help me to get the macho / latin lover image I use to give with my mighty 53kg figure. But still I like that weird insect mouth.

Kickin' rad pegasi! I am amazed! Not all of them are as beautiful as the famous mythological steed, but they are wonderful to look at and think about.

For some reason the Chirobrachiopterix reminds me of some creature that I seen in the movie The Dark Crystal (black Crystal whichever), the characters are gelfling and they ride on something similar to what the Chirobrachiopterix sometime through out the movie.Great work tho!

776 Reminds me very much of the striders from 'The Dark Crystal'

yes, it true, even when I saw that movie after I made this. But still it came as a logical solution on its own. For the creature to move like a horse it would have to move on the point of a single finger. And if a bat needs a surface ... ok, you got the point.
