Your work is an inspiration to me, and I hope to become as good at this as you are, one day. But it'll take a LOT of work, and patience

Your details are excellent, and really bring the picture to life. Well Done!

Thanks - I'll keep going :-D

Forgot to say, you said "fella" earlier, I'm actually a lady - but don't worry, if I had £1 for every person that has mistaken me for a man on DA, I'd be a millionaire
A lot of people don't think that ladies can be so nerdy about old war planes

ah,sorry Now i saw you on DA profile,i am one of those people...not agree with the "nerdy" but girls usually dont like planes.

No problem
I actually fly, too, but not solo. I love doing the old WW1 dogfighting moves, such as the Immelmann Turn.
Do you have a favourite pilot? Voss was admirable, but Mannock was THE BEST of all of them, by far.

I forgot to say ...Manfred von Richthofen is by far my favourite

Yes, he was good, BUT:-

a) he was often asleep when the rest of his Flight were getting up in the morning to fly (hence why he was still wearing his red silk pyjamas when he was shot down).

b) he often flew up above dog-fights, picking off the vulnerable as they tried to escape.

But then, they were all good in their own way. It was almost a lottery as to who survived and who didn't.
Shame that the German government gave Manfred so much (unwanted) publicity. Mannock was only known as "Captain X" in the British newspapers at that time.

Impressive...what plane you fly now?I was a fighter pilot for the Greek Airforce until 2004 the basic aircrafts that i flew were the Mirage 2000 and the Falcon F-16 Block 50...Before I left the Air Force i flew with the Texan II T6A as a flight instructor. Before few years i bought and restore a DH60M Moth...amazing machine. You can see some of my pictures here [link]

wow, the amount of details is absurt!
that tracer hitting the wing spar of the dr1, the exhaust smoke, fire and smoke effects, all the guns, gunners and pilots, the shadows. The darkness below. the different skins on the aircrafts. just Perfect.
