This is really quite beautiful. I am trying to make a heart for a friend of mine, and this is by far the best example that I have found. What size rings did you use for this?

To be honest, I really and truly don't know. It was a one-time piece, made with scraps of what I had in store. The connectors are 0,5mm @ 2,1mm mandrel, and I'm sure of that. If I was to guess the rest of the stats, I'd say 0,6mm@2,5mm, 0,6@3mm and 0,7@3,5mm. Hope it helps...

Thanks! That is pretty awesome that you came up with that out of scraps.

what weave did you use for the center piece that holds the garnet??

It's an old setting of mine, based on byzantine weaves, though changed quite a bit

Absolutely gorgeous! Could this stone-setting technique be used on an emerald cut? I have a beautiful Ametrine that is dying to be made into something (about 10mm x 14mm).

I'm very inspired by your work

Well, i don't really think it's possible to wrap an emerald cut this way, or at least it would be very difficult to achieve - it is based on a 4-fold symmetry, so in theory it could apply to squares/cushions and rounds.

I've tried it with an oval stone and it didn't work. Maybe if you find a way to "stretch" two sides...

Oh, and thank you so much for the kind words. I'm honoured that my work can be an inspiration.

How large is this, overall?

Not that big. The center stone is 7mm in diameter - that's the best I can tell you - it left my hands more than a year ago.

I don't particularly like hearts or Valentine's day, but this caught my eye and then refused to let me look away. It looks very complex and very beautiful--I like the idea of interlocking circles, especially in things that are supposed to be representative or symbolic of love. I like how the circles taper down in size from the top to the bottom, but I especially love the stone suspended in the middle. The whole thing is so complex and creative, but it feels like if you look at it long enough, you can figure out how it's done. It's just magnificent.

beautifull, like I said on the forums

thought about attatching it to a simple ribbon and make it a necklace? (instead of to a chain). I've seen someone else o it and that looks marvalous.

is it a brooch/pin, or a piece of no particular use?
it would be a lovely ornament on a jacket (;
