when I first played Kotor 2 and I got the the flashback to the Exile's banishment, I wondered if the double-bladed saber would be unbalanced and do this...if you can't tell (which I figure is likely), the lightsaber, having been left on and having more weight outside of the pedestal, started to tip, melting the pedestal until is slides out and starts melting the floor too...
Yep, I did this while working on the Exile meme that I haven't finished yet because I can't decide "what is love"

I'm just gonna geek out here a bit...
Yes, the lightsaber would eventually do exactly this. You see, since the blade (or in this case, blades) are made from pure energy, they have no mass. Ergo, all of the mass is concentrated in the shaft, and that would eventually make the lightsaber do that which you've drawn.
This is also the reason to why it is so hard weilding one; while the blade has no mass, therefore weights nothing, it will try to resist movement (dunno exactly why, but I will find out sooner or later), and that, coupled with the fact that all mass is concentrated in the hilt, will create a gyroscopical effect, which makes it ridiculously hard to balance it. Force users use the force to balance this out subconsciously (after training ofc), and are therefore capable of weilding lightsabers like a normal sword. Just better. xD

I see you used a double-bladed saber btw. Personally I prefer dual-weilding two onehanders^^ More slashy slashy IMO. Oh well. Double-blades are kinda cool too^^

Double-bladed is just what I originally used and it inspired this comic because of the increased off-center of gravity it would have if left impaled in something.

Hmmm. Actually, the second blade would make it LESS off-center, since the blade has no mass, yet resist movement. 
Personally, I liked that you used a double-bladed for this piece, since you show the second blade starting to melt the floor

Snap-on-snap-off meaning...No one's dumb enough to put a camera in the lightsaber unless he wants to embarrass himself in front of the Order, Jedi don't like bulky sabers.
