Yeah, the Old Forest had its malevolent aspects, but Tom and Goldberry and their home all seemed very benevolent and welcoming... I really wish that had been in the movie now, as a matter of fact... then again, being able to imagine something without the bias of the film's artistry (beautiful and amazing though it was) is kind of nice, too.
