Description I've got a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of screenshots of Bob and Cecil by now.  I can't remember which ep this is from, but it's a good one.  Here he's pulling out all the stop to convince the courtroom he's the victim here.

Eventually I want to get back into drawing these characters in original poses and scenes, slashy of course.  I know I said I wanted to focus on Cecil more, but guhhh I just can't choose between those boys, and honestly Bob will always be the first to steal my heart.  It helps that he's in a lot more eps than poor Cecil, so we are able to get to know Bob much better.

I want to explore Bob's time with Krusty.  I am convinced that for a while there, they made a dynamite pair, both on and off stage.  Bob has natural acting/artistic ability, and while he's not exactly a comedian, I can see Krusty directing him in such a way that he does come off as hilarious for the cameras.  I mean, we only get to see Bob as Sideshow Bob in one episode?  Maybe two?  And in one of those he doesn't even talk.  We see so little, yet there must have been a few solid years where they connected as both professionals and friends.  How else to explain the fact that they both think about each other so much years after the fact.  Why else would Bob put himself at such risk to frame Krusty, or in a later ep, try to kill him, unless he'd been, or felt he'd been, deeply hurt by him?  And then decide to spare Krusty's life after getting a bit of praise from him.  also, how Krusty compares Mel to Bob, constantly and cruelly.

there's so much more, of course, that leads me to believe they were intensely close for a while, and since they both have rather strong personalities, such a coupling really can't exist for too long.  they would burn each other out.

Bo was just a natural talent in sideshowing. Poor Cecil, he tried so hard, but like, I think I might side with Krusty here, that a need a bucket load of dignity to be dragged to the bottom and it being funny.

I think there was that one episode in later season, where we see like clips of Bob doing his thing on the show as in a nostalgia recap show or sjomething? Anyway, that's like the only episode where we see a lot of what Bob did in the show. Mel is total punching bag, but to me it seems that Krusty has at leas relative respect for Bob occasionally.

ahh for sure.  it's like Cecil tried too hard.  He wasn't a natural for that kind of thing, but he wanted it so badly he tried anyway.  I mean, good for him and all.  but damn what a sore loser!  but yeah, for sure Bob's much funnier if only because it's funny to get that kind of tragic reaction out of a "dignified" person like Bob.  I think that as time when on, Krusty grew to respect Bob as a performer at the very least, and they just have developed some routines together that really worked.  And possibly Bob might have written a few himself.  but I bet as time went on and Krusty got more comfortable with their relationship, he began to take advantage and abuse Bob.  I'm not sure what caused Bob to turn cold against Krusty, I can't remember right now all the details.  they keep coming back into each other's lives anyway.

I think that episode was the Jackanapes one, with Bart with a bomb strapped to him.  Bob was mad because Krusty taped over all the footage with him.  I can't remember if it's the same ep but in one scene Bob walks into the common room were the inmates are watching the Krusty show, and they give Bob shit about it.  and it showed just briefly Krusty literally mopping the floor with Mel's hair, and going, "mop the floor!  mop the floor!!"  that's fucking awful!  lol!  I have a feeling Krusty did things like that to Bob, but Bob wasn't as much of a punching bag as Mel clearly is.  like, he would have done fucked up things to Bob on stage (blowing him out of cannons all the time is pretty terrible) but as long as he was attentive and caring enough to him behind the scenes, Bob could put up with it.  I really think that Krusty doesn't mean to be as terrible as he is, but he tends to be controlling, selfish, and neglectful.  And those traits just got worse by the time Mel showed up, and esp. poor Mel for being compared to Bob constantly anyway, and made to feel inferior.  poor baby xD

btw, sorry to hear about how you have been feeling!  <3

Seriously, I have so vague memory of what's newer episodes and what come later, but I do have a memory of seeing an episode where there's like a funeral(?) of someone important in Krusty's life and Bob's there excorted with a prison guard and Mel is kinda drunk and being like "So youuu are the talented Bob I could never live up to. Believe me, we're all wished to kill him", referring that everyone in the set wants to off Krusty xD Seriously though, the whole dynamic of the shows crew and all is so damn weird. I am still living in an assumption that Bob and Krusty were most equally paired in skills and intellect originally, but the dynamic at some point started to shift towards him being just underused and abused. Which probably fueled his anger.

Pretty weird to analyze Simpsons from all possible things, but when the show isn't completely batshit it does sit in a realm or realism, so it invites to think about things further.
